Cosmetic Gua Sha

Cosmetic Guasha – Facial Guasha

Women, even in ancient Oriental times, always wished to stay beautiful and sought ways to counteract the signs of skin aging. One of the methods that helped fight wrinkles was cosmetic, or facial, guasha. Its secret has been preserved to this day.

Facial guasha is the "cherry on top" of body guasha.
This massage method is performed using two jade tools, specially shaped for the face. These tools reveal irregularities in the subcutaneous tissue that cannot be felt by hand alone. Using the tools, we can target small areas precisely and perform an effective massage.

By stimulating the capillaries, we improve blood circulation, enhance the nervous, cardiovascular, and immune systems, and revitalize the blood. Facial guasha can be a natural alternative to invasive facial treatments such as facelifts, botulinum toxin injections, or intradermal fillers. It can also be used simply as a facial treatment in cosmetic salons.

How the therapy works:
Facial guasha is performed in three stages: diagnostic, restorative, and rejuvenating.

  • Diagnostic: The practitioner identifies painful spots, subcutaneous nodules, changes in skin color, spots, and wrinkles.

  • Restorative: Using special guasha massage techniques, discovered imperfections are addressed and improved.

  • Rejuvenating: The face is smoothed with lifting techniques, and chi energy is lifted upwards.

Results:
The procedure warms the face and body, evens out skin tone, relaxes, and improves the appearance of the face. Changes are visible immediately. Clients may feel gentle tension and warmth in the face. Redness may occur due to increased circulation but fades quickly, leaving the skin tone even.

Facial guasha can help reduce signs of skin aging such as:

  • Wrinkles

  • Uneven skin texture

  • Pigmentation spots

  • Eye bags and dark circles

  • Broken capillaries

Frequency:
Facial guasha is performed 1–2 times per week for at least one month, depending on the condition of the face. To maintain results, it can be done once a month as a replacement for regular cosmetic treatments. Guasha can be combined with other rejuvenating techniques to enhance overall facial appearance.

The face reflects the state of our internal organs. An experienced Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner can identify potential health issues from facial expressions and skin condition. Often, guasha therapy is combined with herbal medicine, acupuncture, and dietary adjustments.
